It's a Small World... an electric piano improv.

Taken from a humorous "Spontaneous Sunday" Livestream back in April 2024, this is my second (much lighter!) tribute for Richard Sherman (1928-2024) on the week of his death. He and his brother, Robert, were musical giants, and a musical inspiration to us all from our childhood onward, and I'm so grateful we have their wonderful music that lives on within us all. This is perhaps their most well-...

An improvised arrangement of the late Richard Sherman and his brother Robert's song, Feed the Birds, from the 1964 Disney classic, "Mary Poppins." This was recorded in January of 2024 in Galway Cathedral, Galway, Ireland, and serves as my tribute to Richard Sherman, one of the first musical legends I met after moving to Los Angeles in 2016. #disney #marypoppins #pipeorgan Subscribe to my channe...
FINALLY, a new chapter in virtual pipe organ demos.

If you are a Hauptwerk virtual pipe organ user, you know it's an expensive rabbit hole fueled by our desire to bring the pipe organ out of the church and concert hall, and access it from the comfort of your home (or really anywhere!). Before you buy an instrument, however, it's smart to do your research, so you watch a demo or a video review to know what you're investing in. And it's at this mo...

Amazing, fantastic piece. The composer ingeniously puts commonplace, trivial panels together and turns them into a great composition. This is what Boelmann failed to do in the last movement of the Gothic suite.

That was truly wonderful Aaron and a very fitting tribute to the occasion of the 80th Anniversary and Commemoration of the Normany Landings. Those Veterans are unlikely to see a similar event. I listened to it again this morning and perhaps, as suggested 😊, you should release it as a separate video and tribute. ATB ❤

They don't make buildings like they did in the past anymore. Today everything needs to be bold, and brash, and unique on a macroliminal scale, and convention breaking and all those tiny gargoyles and ridges and small enterances and glorious opalizing stained glass windows are not there. We have dull stacks of geometric figures boring holes in the landscape with agressive and noisy colors and clashing figures and this heavy focus on embelishing individual parts of the buildings instead of the whole. I lived for quite some time in a small mediterranean town which hosted an array of old buildings, particularly from the 1800's and some old breweries from 1600's and even still, even mere 200 years ago, the architecture was way batter than that which we got after world wars when the Bauhaus was introduced, when the buildings became so twisted by the need to mash as much people in them in order to bloat the economy by incentivizing fake populus growth. I miss the old world so much you would not believe, dear reader.

Wonderful videography, Aaron, and a reverential improvisation in tribute to the late, great Richard Sherman. Although P L Travers might not have approved of the genius of the songs that really made the 'Mary Poppins' movie magical, millions and millions of children (and adults) over the years from 1964 onwards have been enchanted by their songs, which have had immediate and lasting appeal (I remember going to the cinema when I was 6 to see the film when it was released and the 'Mary Poppins Song Book' was an early addition to the piano pieces I first learned). And how special for you to have met the man in person - a photograph to cherish for certain. Bravo!

It was certainly a treasure to have the two brother composers walk this earth and give us such wonderful memories. And they're full of surprises, like when "Spoonful of Sugar helps the medicine go down," the melody goes UP instead. I love this kind of creativity! Thanks for your kind words, Graham!

My heart hurts every time I hear this song it’s so beautiful! This time was no exception. Aaron, you played this so thoughtfully and with such tenderness! This was a lovely tribute to Richard Sherman and even more meaningful that you interjected photos, video of him singing at the piano, movie scenes, and you standing with him at the end of the tribute! I would never have known that you recorded this song months before, when you were in Ireland~ obviously it was meant to be!
